Ο Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30A Isolated is an isolated DC-DC converter (charger) that converts the 12V of the main battery into an adjustable 12V charging voltage, with an output current of up to 30A (360W). It belongs to the new Orion-Tr Smart series from Victron Energy and is an ideal solution for charging a second (service) battery from the alternator or the main battery, in boats, caravans, commercial vehicles, ambulances and autonomous photovoltaic systems.
Thanks to galvanic isolation input-output, the Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30A Isolated eliminates grounding problems, leakage currents and electrical noise, making it indispensable when the grounds of the two circuits must remain independent. The built-in multi-stage charging algorithm (bulk, absorption, float) protects and significantly extends the life of the battery, while supporting all battery types, including lithium (LiFePO4), GEL, AGM and wet type.
With built-in Bluetooth, configure and monitor the device directly from your mobile phone via the free app VictronConnect: output voltage and current, charging curve, as well as the activation method. It has a programmable remote on/off input and an automatic engine shutdown detection function, so that it charges only when needed. Its construction is durable, with protection against overheating, overload, short circuit and reverse polarity.

Is a separate on/off switch needed? Not necessarily. It has a remote on/off input and can be activated automatically by detecting engine operation.
What is the difference between isolated and non-isolated? The isolated version offers galvanic input-output isolation, essential when the grounding of the two systems must remain independent, such as on boats and vehicles.
Is it compatible with lithium batteries? Yes. Through VictronConnect you set the appropriate charging voltage for LiFePO4, GEL, AGM or wet batteries.
