How does voltage regulation work?

Voltage regulation is a process by which the voltage of an alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) electrical power source is maintained at a constant value. The voltage regulator can be a component of the power source, such as a transformer, or it can be a separate device.

The three main types of voltage regulators are linear voltage regulators, switch mode voltage regulators and zener diode voltage regulators. Linear voltage regulators work by using a variable resistor to control the amount of current flowing through the regulator. Switching mode voltage regulators use electronic switches to regulate current flow. Zener diode voltage regulators work by allowing only enough current to flow through the regulator to maintain the desired voltage.

What are the display types for Victron Energy Phoenix 24/250 inverters?

The Victron Phoenix Inverter is a multi-purpose inverter that can be used for stand-alone applications photovoltaics systems. There are three types of displays for the Victron Phoenix inverter: the LED display, the LCD display and the graphic display.

Specifications

Proven reliability

The full bridge and toroidal transformer topology has proven its reliability for many years.
The inverters are short-circuit proof and protected against overheating, either due to overload or due to high ambient temperature.

High starting power

Required to start loads such as power inverters for LED lamps, halogen lamps or power tools.

ECO function

When in ECO mode, the inverter will go into standby mode when the load drops below a preset value (minimum load: 15W). Once in standby mode, the inverter will turn on for a short time (adjustable, default: every 2,5 seconds). If the load exceeds a predetermined level, the inverter will remain on.

PWM solar charger

The solar charger ensures that the batteries are charged with energy collected from your solar panels. The charging algorithm is programmable.

Enable/disable remote control

The Phoenix Inverter Control VE.Direct Remote panel (not included) can be used to remotely turn the inverter on or off. Alternatively, a remote on/off switch can be connected to a bipolar connector or between the battery plus and the left contact of the bipolar plug.

LED diagnosis

Refer to the manual for description.

Bluetooth

Inverter and solar charger parameters can be read, monitored and configured via Bluetooth using the VictronConnect app.

VE.Direct communication port

The VE.Direct port can be used to connect to a GX device, the GlobalLink 520 for monitoring via the VRM gateway, or to connect to a PC for monitoring or configuration using the VictronConnect app.

Monitoring via VictronConnect app or GX device:

• Inverter input and output voltage and % load
• Solar energy, voltage and current
• Operational status and alarms

Fully configurable via the VictronConnect app:

• Low battery alarm stop and reset levels
• Low battery voltage cut and restart levels
• Dynamic cut-off: load-dependent cut-off level
• Output voltage 210 – 245 V and Frequency 50 Hz or 60 Hz
• Enable/disable ECO mode and ECO mode feeling level
• Battery charging current, algorithm and voltages
• Battery charging temperature compensation or low temperature level reduction

To transfer the load to another AC source: the auto-switch

For low power inverters, we recommend the Filax automatic transfer switch. Filax has a very short transition time (less than 20 milliseconds), so computers and other electronic equipment can continue to operate without interruption.

DC and PV connections with screw terminals

No special cable lugs or tools are needed for installation.

Comes with IEC-320 plug IEC-320 male plug included.
