ABB is a multi-billion dollar Swiss industrial giant that manufactures solar array converters in Italy.

Until 2013, their converters were known as "Power One", when the company acquired Power One. The traffic certainly did not affect the quality, which remained high.

ABB Grid In July 2019, ABB announced that it was exiting the solar inverter business, which was to be acquired by the Italian company FIMER. This acquisition process was completed in March 2020. However, a rebranding of the inverters didn't start happening until mid-2021 – so until that point they were still being produced under the ABB name.

Based in Vimercate, Italy, Fimer was founded in 1942 and started converting technology in 1983. This is not really a new field in which it is moving, but previously it focused mainly on converters for solar parks.

ABB Networks In Australia, FIMER offers a ten-year full replacement warranty on new single-phase string inverters (REACT2 and UNO-DM series). FIMER three-phase string inverters come with a standard five-year full replacement warranty, which can be extended to 10 years at an additional cost. Sometimes an additional warranty can be included as a promotion or part of a solar package deal.
