Victron Energy's new range of Centaur battery chargers are designed to be a truly global product. Fulfillment of regulations and their entry / exit specifications are key features of the new range of the recognized Dutch manufacturer.

Designed to meet the requirements of both the European Community and UL CE regulations for the US, the Centaur model range features automatic scaling input covering 90-265Vac 50 / 60Hz inputs, meaning they can be used anywhere in the world .

The Centaur range of battery chargers has an automatic input that covers 90-265VAC 50 / 60Hz input which means they can be used anywhere in the world.

Basically, and unlike many other products that declare universal input, the Centaur series will maintain full output power throughout the specified range. Other features include a fully automatic three-stage charging feature that ensures batteries are fully charged each time and three single-charge outputs for multi-battery configurations to fit most standard installations.

The range extends to 12V and 24V models from 16A to 100A.

Quality without compromises

Cases with aluminum powder coating with drip shield and stainless steel fastening, withstand the rigidities of an adverse environment: heat, moisture and salt.

Circuit boards are protected with acrylic coating for maximum corrosion resistance.

Temperature sensors ensure that power components will always operate within specified limits, if required by automatically reducing the output current under extreme environmental conditions.

Universal 90-265V AC input voltage range and also suitable for DC power supply (AC-DC and DC-DC)

All models will operate without any adjustment required in the 90 to 265 Volt input voltage range, either 50 Hz or 60 Hz.

The chargers also accept 90-400 V DC power supply.

Three outputs that anyone can supply the full output current

Three isolated outputs for simultaneous charging of 3 battery packs.

Each output is capable of providing the full rated current.

Three-stage charging, with temperature compensation

The Centaur is charged in bulk until the output is reduced to 70% of the rated Amps, from which a 4-hour timer starts. Over time, the charger changes to a floating rate.

An internal temperature sensor is used to compensate the charging voltage with - 2 mV / ºC (- 1 mV / ºF) per cell. A DIP switch is available to select the optimal charging / float voltages for lead acid, Gel or AGM batteries.
