MultiPlus-II combines the functions of MultiPlus and MultiGrid.
It has all the features of MultiPlus, plus an optional external power adapter for PowerControl and PowerAssist implementation and for improved self-consumption with external current detection (max. 32 A).
It also has all the features of MultiGrid with built-in anti-islanding functionality and a growing extensive list of country approvals.
PowerAssist
The MultiPlus-II will prevent overloading of a limited capacity AC source, such as a generator or a boat or vehicle external power connection. In the first phase, it automatically reduces the battery charge when otherwise it would overload. In the second level it amplifies the output of a generator or a mains power supply from the battery.
ESS (Energy Storage System) operation
MultiPlus-II is the key component in a Victron ESS system, providing the flexibility to combine with MPPT solar chargers or PV array converters. It is a multifunctional converter / charger with all the features of MultiPlus, as well as an optional external current sensor that extends the PowerControl and PowerAssist function to 50A instead. 100A. The MultiPlus-II is ideally suited for professional shipping, yachts, vehicles and offline applications. It also has a built-in anti-island function and an increasingly long list of country approvals for ESS implementation. Many system configurations are possible.
Uninterruptible power supply (UPS mode)
In the event of a mains failure or when the power is disconnected from the mains or the generator, the inverter in the Multi is activated automatically and takes over the power supply of the connected loads. This happens so fast (less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic equipment will continue to operate without interruption. MultiPlus-II can be used in off-grid as well as grid-connected photovoltaic and other alternative energy systems. It is compatible with both solar chargers and mains converters.
Almost unlimited power thanks to the parallel and three-phase operation.
Up to 6 Multis can operate in parallel to achieve higher output power. Six 48/5000/70 units, for example, will give an output power of 25 kW / 30 kVA and a load capacity of 420 amps. In addition to the parallel connection, three units of the same model can be configured for three-phase output. But that's not all: up to 6 sets of three units can be connected in parallel to provide a 75kW / 90 kVA power converter with more than 1200 amps of capacity.
Configuration, monitoring and control of the on-site system
Settings can be changed in minutes with VEConfigure software (requires PC or laptop and MK3-USB interface). There are several monitoring and control options available: Color Control GX, Venus GX, Octo GX, CANvu GX, Laptop, Computer, bluetooth (with optional backpack VE. Smart Bus), Battery Monitor, Digital Multi Control Panel.

The MultiPlus range of bidirectional converters is the worldwide product of choice on boats and vehicles to generate AC power, and to recharge batteries, either with shore power or an onboard AC generator.
The MultiPlus is also the industry standard in on-grid and off-grid energy storage systems and is approved for use in energy storage and self-consumption systems in the UK (G83 / 2 and G59-3-1 standards).
Several hardware and firmware modifications were needed to qualify for VDE-AR-N 4105 and other country specific energy storage related standards.

Victron ECOMulti
This is a compact, single box solution which contains a 3kva inverter and 2.3kwh lithium Ion battery. This contains a 50A transfer relay and connects inline between your supply grid and your PV inverter + protected loads.
The main advantage of this is its simple installation and simple operation. However while compact and easy to install… there are no limits in its functionality.
Its main operation is to charge its internal battery from surplus power from the PV system during the day. At night, the ECOMulti disconnects from the grid and runs from battery. If the power requirements are too high, or the battery runs low, then it reconnects to the grid.
