Load output
• Limit battery discharge can be prevented by connecting all loads to the load output. The load output will disconnect the load when the battery is discharged to a preset voltage. Alternatively, an intelligent battery management algorithm can be selected.
• Load output includes short circuit protection.
Some loads (especially inverters) are best connected directly to the battery, while the remote control of the inverter can be connected to the output of the load.
Battery life: smart battery management
When a solar charge controller is unable to recharge the battery to its full capacity within a day, the result is often that the battery switches between a partially charged and a fully discharged state. This mode (without regular full charge) will damage a lead-acid battery in a matter of weeks or months.
The algorithm that monitors battery life monitors the charge status of the battery and if necessary, day by day may slightly increase the level of charge disconnection (ie charge disconnection may occur earlier) until the solar energy harvest is sufficient for recharging the battery to almost full charge. From that point on, the level of cargo disconnection should be adjusted so that an almost 100% recharge is achieved approximately once each week.
Waterproof, compact housing, low cost
The recognizable blue case of Victron Energy is light (500 g), waterproof and does not raise the temperature. The electronic components of the charger are enclosed in resin, so that they have the best possible protection from harmful external influences. The charge regulator automatically adjusts to 12V or 24V systems.
