The storage system is based on 3 Lithium ion batteries SUNLIGHT Li-Oness 5,12Kwh (51,2V-100Ah), of the Greek company Sunlight, which combines low weight, high capacity at high discharge depths, large number of charge-discharge cycles etc. . and is an excellent choice for autonomous photovoltaic systems.
The package includes:

• 3 SUNLIGHT Li-Oness batteries 5,12Kwh (51,2V-100Ah) that store at full charge 15,36KWh.
• Rack (cabinet) base for batteries, capacity 4 batteries.
• Display box (Telecomunication box) and Power unit (Power unit) integrated in the rack.

Key features of the storage system:

• Storage at full charge 15,36KWh and number of charge-discharge cycles over 4500 (for 80% DoD).
• There is no need for ventilation of the space where the system is installed, nor for any kind of maintenance of the batteries (eg liquid replenishment or charging balance).
• High charge rate (0,5C-C) and high discharge depth (up to 80%) without affecting battery life.
• Practically, the high efficiency of the battery (> 90%) offers the use of less capacity per kilowatt hour during its life and consequently in some systems the possibility of using fewer panels, a smaller backup generator and so on.
• Use of LiFePO4 technology that ensures, in addition to the above, stable performance in difficult conditions and avoid pollution of the environment by toxic materials.
• Power unit based on Active BMS (Battery Management System) technology that offers:
  • Balance while the batteries are fully operational,
  • Ensure loss-free energy transfer with 10% savings
  • Increased charging efficiency, increased battery life up to 30%
• Display Telecommunication Box through which more than 45 parameters can be monitored and managed (voltage, temperature, SoC etc.). This ensures the proper operation of the batteries and their protection against overcharging, deep discharge, high temperature, short circuit and so on. It also provides the ability to connect to an existing energy management system (EMS). At the same time, through the Glocal system, it is possible to remotely control the system and resolve most of the faults without requiring a site visit.
• In the event of a fault, the fault module is located and removed without requiring the batteries to be switched off in their entirety.
• The capacity can be expanded using a corresponding cabinet (up to 7 batteries → 35,84KWh).
• Possibility to increase the capacity through parallelism in more cabinets. Indicatively, it can reach a total capacity of 204KWh using 6 cabinets, each of which will contain 7 batteries.
