SUNG SG8.0RT: Three Phase Converter Without Transformer

The three-phase interconnector /network inverter SUNG SG8.0RT is ideal for photovoltaic net metering package.

String inverters convert direct current (DC) from your photovoltaic panels to alternating current (AC) that can be supplied to the mains.
String converters are mostly used in domestic and commercial solar projects, such as roof installations, car parks, ground bases and monitoring facilities. Sungrow string inverters are available in the power range between 2,5 kW and 250 kW.

The Gen-2 series of three-phase converters includes five variants - 5 kW, 7 kW, 10 kW, 15 kW and 20 kW. The range includes Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI), real-time monitoring, wide MPPT voltage range and a fully compatible built-in DC switch that, according to the manufacturers, "allows for easier installation and significant cost savings". The efficiency is reasonable with a percentage of 97,40% and a maximum of 98,40% for the SG5.0RT unit which ranges up to 98,10% with a maximum of 98,50% for the SG20RT model. It is worth noting that the percentages included in the data sheet are the European weighted yield rates.

The 16 A input current and the 25 A short-circuit current of the inverters should satisfy most home installations, while the starting voltage and MPPT range (180 v - 1000 v) is remarkable with Sungrow indicating that it will translate into higher system performance. . It is also worth noting that it is possible to attach an uneven amount of strings to the MPPT trackers on the SG7.0RT and SG10RT models, which will provide flexibility. The THD (<3% at rated power) and the power factor (> 0,99 / 0,8 leading lag 0,8) are exactly the same as for most other converters.

Gen-2 converters come with a comprehensive list of protection mechanisms, including an AFCI, which Sungrow says significantly reduces the risk of electric fires. They also include Smart IV Scan and real-time monitoring for fast troubleshooting and troubleshooting, built-in DC and AC Type II surge protection, DC reverse connection protection, AC short circuit protection and current leakage protection. The inverters weigh from 18 to 21 kg and have a width of 370 mm, a height of 480 mm and a depth of 195 mm.

As for the SG series warranty, Sungrow offers coverage for defects in materials and construction for a period of 10 years from the date of installation, but not more than 11 years from the date of manufacture.
