Energy netting, also known as net metering, is a system used for the production and use of renewable energy, such as solar energy. With net metering, owners of renewable energy systems can connect their systems to the electricity grid and meter both the incoming energy flow from the grid and the outgoing energy flow produced by their own renewable energy sources.
