The battery charger Victron Blue Smart IP67 Charger 12/17 (waterproof) charges from a generator battery of autonomous photovoltaic package 12V with 17A DC current.
It is ideal for charging autonomous photovoltaic system batteries, but also starter batteries - cars, motorcycles, boats, caravans.
When the autonomous photovoltaic system has an inverter that is not at the same time a battery charger, in case of cloudy weather or at night, the Blue Smart IP67 Charger 12/17 undertakes to charge the discharged batteries from a generator.

in a hybrid autonomous photovoltaic system that supplies electricity to a country house, produces up to 1,75kWh per day and provides 2 days of autonomy in winter.
A seven-stage charging algorithm prevents overcharging of batteries, optimizes their performance and maintenance, and maximizes their lifespan.
It has built-in bluetooth and through the VictronConnect application all settings are possible from a smartphone as well as the monitoring of the battery operation.

The models with suffix (1 + Si) feature a second current limited output which is always powered as long as 180 - 265 VAC is present on the input. This output can for example be used to prevent starting of a vehicle before unplugging the battery charger (start interrupt function).
