Victron Energy Blue Smart IP22 Charger 12/30 (1) Battery Charger : The Blue Smart IP22 charger is the new professional battery charger with built-in Bluetooth. This charger can be used on devices in your workshop and on motor vehicles such as classic cars, motorbikes, boats and caravans.
The wireless solution for monitoring voltage and current, changing settings and updating your charger when new features become available.
Up to 94% efficiency, the Blue Smart IP22 Charger 12/30 (1) produces up to four times less heat compared to the industry standard. When the battery is fully charged, power consumption is reduced to watts that are five to ten times better than the industry standard.
The absorption, float and storage voltages as well as the Recondition setting and temperature compensation value can be programmed with bluetooth app .
After activating the Expert mode, the application will allow changing almost all parameters and time limits used by the charging algorithm.
The IP22 12/30 (1) charger features a microprocessor-controlled 'adaptive' battery management. Adaptive mode will automatically optimize the charging process based on how the battery is used.
Lithium batteries are loaded with a simple volume – absorb – float algorithm.
It will start charging even if the battery is discharged to zero volts.
It will reconnect to a fully Li-on battery with an internal disconnect function.
When in NIGHT or LOW mode, the output current is reduced to maximum. 50% of rated output and the IP22 charger will be completely silent. The NIGHT mode automatically ends after 8 hours. LOW mode can be terminated manually.
Want to improve battery charging? Why not take a look at Victron Energy Battery Sense which measures the voltage at the terminals of the battery bank, errors resulting from voltage loss due to cable resistance are avoided – ensuring the correct charging voltage.

The Victron battery charger is an intelligent battery charger for lead acid and deep cycle batteries. The unit is designed for home or business use and features a compact size that can be placed under a counter or inside equipment cabinets.
Ο Victron charger IP22 is a simple, durable and reliable charger designed for deep discharge or PV batteries. It features a two-stage charging algorithm that ensures optimal battery performance and longevity. In the first stage, the charger applies constant current to the battery, which raises it to its maximum voltage. In the second stage, the charger maintains a constant voltage, which allows the battery to safely absorb as much energy as possible.
A deep discharge battery is a lead-acid battery designed to be discharged and recharged regularly. Deep cycle batteries are used in applications where a high depth of discharge (DOD) is required, such as in renewable energy systems.
Lead-acid batteries work by converting chemical energy into electrical energy. The lead-acid battery was invented in 1859 by the French physicist Gaston Planté and is the oldest type of rechargeable battery. Lead-acid batteries consist of lead dioxide (PbO2) and spongy lead (Pb) electrodes in a sulfuric acid (H2SO4) electrolyte solution.
When a lead-acid battery discharges, the sulfate ions in the electrolyte are converted to sulfate radicals, which then react with the lead electrodes to form lead sulfate (PbSO4). During charging, the reverse reaction occurs and lead sulfate is converted back into sulfate ions.
The capacity of a lead-acid battery is usually measured in ampere-hours (Ah), which is the amount of current that can be delivered over time. Depth of discharge (DOD) is the percentage of capacity that has been depleted during discharge. For example, if a 100 Ah battery is discharged at 50 A for two hours, the DOD would be 50%.
Deep discharge batteries are designed to withstand repeated deep discharges, making them ideal for renewable energy systems where power generation may not always be
