AGM Deep discharge batteries: AGM batteries use Boron-Silicate Glass Mat between the plates. The electrolyte is inside the Glass Mat and there is no risk of leakage in case of battery breakage. Also there is no risk of freezing the battery at very low temperatures as there is no liquid inside. The charging voltages are the same as for any single battery and due to the fact that the internal resistance is extremely low there is no risk of overheating the battery under fast charging or discharging conditions. The self-discharge rate is very low of 1-3% per month which means that they can be left out of charge for a longer period of time without significantly reducing its performance. The plates in the AGM are very compact and can withstand more vibrations than any other battery. They have a lifespan of 10-12 years and are suitable for cyclic, multiple charges with applications in photovoltaic systems, UPS, electric wheelchairs.

GEL

GEL batteries contain an acid that has become like gel with the addition of Silica Gel. The advantage of these batteries is that it is impossible to spill the acid even if the battery is broken. They can not be charged quickly in a conventional car charger because there is a risk of permanent damage. They must also be charged at a lower voltage than liquid type or AGM (2/10 less) because gaps can be created inside the GEL never shut down, causing a decrease in the total capacity of the battery. The deep discharge GEL batteries have a lifespan of 10-12 years while they are suitable for cyclic, multiple charges with applications in photovoltaic systems, UPS, electric wheelchairs.
