American manufacturer Yotta Energy said its two new microinverters are compatible with up to four high-power photovoltaic modules. They have a maximum efficiency of 96,5% and a nominal maximum power point detection (MPPT) efficiency of 99,5%.

US storage system manufacturer Yotta Energy has introduced a new three-phase dual-power microinverter for commercial rooftop PV applications.

The new DPI microinverters will be available in both 208V and 480V versions and will incorporate several key features including built-in phase monitoring/phase balancing, NEC 2020 690.12 fast shutdown compliance and UL 1741-SA (Rule 21) compliance; said a company representative. “Each DPI supports four high-capacity solar modules.”

The converters measure 359mm x 242mm x 46mm and weigh 6kg. They have a maximum efficiency of 96,5% and a nominal maximum power point detection (MPPT) efficiency of 99,5%.

The operating voltage range is between 26 V and 60 V and the maximum input voltage is 60 V. The maximum continuous output power for the 208 V device is 1.728 VA and 1.800 VA for the 480 V product. The inverters also have cooling systems based on in physical transportation and come with a 10-year warranty that can be extended to 25 years, the manufacturer said.

"This interactive microinverter has Reactive Power Control (RPC) technology that exceeds recent NEC Rapid Shutdown requirements," the company said. "Micro-inverters are a safe bet over high-voltage string converters and eliminate the risk of DC arcing faults."

The inverters are manufactured in Taiwan for Yotta Energy as part of a strategic original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partnership with Seattle-based microinverter specialist APsystems.

Dual Power Converter (DPI)

Yotta's Dual Power Inverter (DPI) is the first power conversion system designed to be interchangeable between solar and energy storage. This unique feature offers maximum flexibility and offers all the advantages of a micro inverter at a cost comparable to string inverters. Superior security, streamlined system deployment and exceptional reliability provide an industry-leading commercial and industrial photovoltaic inverter.

Rated at 1,2kW, this 4-port microinverter is capable of accommodating up to four photovoltaic high capacity units and is directly compatible with Yotta's SolarLEAF SL-1000 energy storage technology.
