SUNGROW SG5.0RS: Single Phase Power Inverter Without Transformer

The single-phase interconnector /network inverter SUNGROW SG5.0RS is ideal for photovoltaic net metering package.

String inverters convert direct current (DC) from your photovoltaic panels to alternating current (AC) that can be supplied to the mains.
String converters are mostly used in domestic and commercial solar projects, such as roof installations, car parks, ground bases and monitoring facilities. Sungrow string inverters are available in the power range between 2,5 kW and 250 kW.

The Sungrow range of SG home solar converters has become very popular due to its competitive price and high reliability. Strong sales data show that it is now the second best-selling solar converter in Australia by volume, coming second only to Fronius (according to Formbay data). Sungrow also has a high reputation for quality compared to many other Chinese manufacturers, along with good service from the Sydney-based support office, which has further helped improve their condition.

Sungrow inverters are an ideal solar system solution for private and residential use. It is a very reliable and economical converter. These inverters are installed for single-phase systems.

The SG series is lightweight, without a transformer, with MPPT wide-range string converters and Wi-Fi communications included. Like most modern string inverters, Sungrow home inverters are passively cooled using a large rear heat sink. Due to the efficient design, no power reduction is expected below the ambient temperature of 45 degC, which is impressive for a passively cooled converter. SG converters are available in 3 main varieties, S series, D series and TL series listed below:

Victron ECOMulti

This is a compact, single box solution which contains a 3kva inverter and 2.3kwh lithium Ion battery. This contains a 50A transfer relay and connects inline between your supply grid and your PV inverter + protected loads.

The main advantage of this is its simple installation and simple operation. However while compact and easy to install… there are no limits in its functionality.

Its main operation is to charge its internal battery from surplus power from the PV system during the day. At night, the ECOMulti disconnects from the grid and runs from battery. If the power requirements are too high, or the battery runs low, then it reconnects to the grid.
